Flying: Garuda Indonesia B737-800 Economy Class Singapore to Bali 2015

We arrived at Changi at about 6:48AM and hurried to the check-in counter, where there was no queue.

Our bags were checked-in and the boarding passes were quickly issued in less than 5 minutes. I was a little surprised to see that I have been allocated to seat 44B, as I wasn't expecting to be pushed all the way to the tail

We grabbed a quick breakfast at Changi, since we weren't expecting a full meal service on an early morning flight (we were wrong though). As a Singaporean, I am ashamed to admit that I have underestimated the time needed to get from immigration to the boarding gates at Terminal 3. So by the time we arrived at the gate, it seems that all the other passengers had already boarded.

I sheepishly asked the gate agent whether we were the last to board, and he replied, "You are the second last". Ok, that's better.

In case you are wondering what is the white shadow on the glass, it's a SIA A380 parked beside our plane. In fact, our small sardine was sandwiched by three A380s, 1 on the left and 2 one the right.

Garuda Indonesia 841
Singapore (SIN) – Bali (DPS)
Thursday, Jan 15 2015
Depart: 7:50AM
Arrive: 10:35AM
Flight time: 2hr45min
Aircraft: Boeing 738-800
Seat: 44B

The aircraft seems to be a newly delivered one, with the new mood lighting on the cabin ceiling.
The seats also appear to be new and fresh.
Since we were the among the last to board, the door was quickly closed after we boarded. It was a light load, with only about one-third of the seats filled. We practically shared the entire tail of the aircraft with another solo traveller.

The captain greeted us on the PA, welcoming the passengers on board and said he expected to put us in Bali on time. Orange juice was also served before departure.

We had a quick taxi to the runway, though there was a slight queue for takeoff and we were 10 minutes behind schedule by the time we lifted off.
As usual, morning was always a busy time at Changi, with many flights, long haul or short haul, departing.

A full breakfast was served. The hashbrown was a little soggy, but the omelette was reasonably soft and fluffy. The muffin was delicious.

After the trays were cleared another round of drinks were offered. Immigration cards were also distributed.

Despite the late takeoff, we landed ahead of schedule and taxied quickly to a remote parking stand at the far end of the airport.
