Flying: China Southern A320 Economy Class Guangzhou to Singapore

It was a mistake on hindsight that I booked such an early flight on the return segment, since that means catching the first metro train to the airport is not a viable option since the first train departs after 6am and take more than an hour to reach to airport. Although technically the check-in counter closes 45 minutes before departure, it's really risky to arrive on the dot.

Thankfully my uncle drove me to the city, where there are airport buses leaving from 5am.

Check-in was smooth, without much of a queue at the counter, perhaps due to my early arrival at the airport, though I was a little displeased to see from the boarding pass that I shall be boarding from a remote parking stand.

Customs and immigration was a breeze as there is traffic was light at this hour, so that left me with a good amount of time to roam around and do some plane spotting.

Depart: 8:30AM
Arrive: 12:30PM
Flight time: 4hr
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Seat: R49H

The boarding was from one of lower ground gates, where we took a shuttle bus to the remote parking stand. Sometimes I do wonder whether they used a remote parking stand because everyone on board this flight purchased a discount ticket like I did.

Once onboard it was a fairly quick taxi to take-off at 8:48AM.

Food
About 40 minutes into the flight drinks were served. Again it was edible, but certainly nothing memorable.

We experienced some heavy turbulence an hour out of Singapore, which lasted about 15 minutes and caused a serious lurch in the stomach. To be fair the flight stewardess did make an announcement requiring everyone to return to their seats, however an address from the captain could have provided greater assurance to the passengers.

Although we took off 18 minutes behind schedule, we landed at 12:34PM, roughly on schedule.
